Childs, Etheridge united in marriage

Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Gabriel Childs
Mindy Lynn Etheridge and Kyle Gabriel Childs, both of Jackson, were united in marriage on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 at 3 p.m. Pastor Tim Huie performed the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Etheridge and Charlotte Childs and the late Randy Childs.

An arch of lavender and white wisteria was placed at the alter and accented with ferns in the backdrop.

Traditional wedding music included the bride walking down the isle to "A Wedding Song."

The bride wore a strapless white satin A-line dress with split overskirt with waist defining detail. Bodice inset and train were adorned with beaded lace. She carried a bouquet of white and lavender roses and freesia.

Ms. Etheridge was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Rachael Roberts with Beverly Wilson and Jessie Childs serving as bridesmaids. They wore lavender colored gowns with split skirts and carried bouquets of white roses with lavender accents.

Morgan Childs and Maggie Childs served as flower girls and wore lavender dresses. They carried lace baskets of lavender with white rose petals. Megan Childs attended the bride's book and wore a lavender satin dress.

Serving as best man was Scott Smith. Groomsmen were Jason Childs and Scott Bennett. Walker Bennett served as ringbearer. All groomsmen and Cody Childs served as ushers.

Reception

A reception was conducted in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the ceremony. Guests were served vegetable trays and dip, fruit tier, cajun meatballs, chicken salad croissants, ham, turkey, roast and boiled shrimp presented in a lighted ice sculpture bowl.

The groom's table was decorated with a hunting and fishing theme. The cake was shaped as an Alabama ice chest. The bride's cake was three-tiered and adorned with lavender flowers, a lighted fountain and lighted swan topper.

After a honeymoon to the beach the couple is making their home in Jackson.

Bridal Tea

Mindy Lynn Etheridge was the honored guest at a bridal tea Nov. 5, 2006 in the home of Teresa Roberts. Co-hostess for the event was Rachael Roberts.

Special guests included Mrs. Charlie Etheridge and Mrs. Randy Childs, and the brideelect's grandmother, Mrs. Derrell Jones of Jackson.

A variety of finger foods and cake was served.

The hostesses' gift was a wrought iron centerpiece bowl with decorative balls.

Bridal Shower A bridal shower, hostessed by Jan Alday, Dot Chastain, Joyce Few and Beverly Wilson, was conducted Nov. 12, 2006 at the Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Leroy.

Special guests included the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Charlie Etheridge, and her grandmothers Mrs. Derrell Jones and Mrs. T.J. Etheridge of Sweet Water.

The fellowship hall was decorated with ferns and a centerpiece of lavender and white flowers. Cake and a variety of finger foods were served.

The hostesses' gift was a Noritake holly and berry rectangular chip and dip platter.
