Leroy girls up record to 8-5 with two area wins

The Leroy Lady Bears increased their record to 8-5 with two area wins and another season win this past week.

The girls started the week out with a 47-30, 2A Area 1 win over the Hurricanes of Flomaton. Ada Collins and Chaniquia McMorris both had 17 points apiece to combine for 34-47 points. Kendra Koins also added 6 points for Leroy. Flomaton was led by April Caysen with 10 points.

Excel came in on Friday and suffered a loss as well to the Leroy Lady Bears 46-30. McMorris led the Bears in scoring with 17 points, followed by Ashley Snow with 12. Excel was paced by Amy Hollinger with 10 points.

Leroy grabbed another win over the Sweet Water Bulldogs on Saturday, 57-43. Ada Collins had 20 points for Leroy, followed by Ashley Snow with 10. The Bulldogs were led by Taneshia Blanks with 8 points.

The Lady Bears (8-5, 3-1) will travel to Flomaton on Thursday and to Washington County on Saturday.
