Slayton teaches students about leaves
Brooke Slayton's kindergarten class at Gillmore Elementary School (GES) recently completed an Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) lesson. The students' project included searching for specific trees and identifying leaves. They also named a Black Cherry Blossom Tree, Ms. Gillmore. With the leaves the students collected, they made a leaf book for their classroom. Observing the students during the project was GES Assistant Principal Gwen Wheeler. Gillmore Elementary School has recently been named an AMSTI school.
