Coffeeville Police Department’s holiday checkpoints net arrests

A joint operation between the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office and the Coffeeville Police Department landed five people in the Clarke County Jail with drug charges. Checkpoints began Friday night, Dec. 22, continuing into the morning hours of Dec. 23.

Miguel Bernard Eldridge, 31 and Wytasky Bridges, 18 both of Annie Mannie were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana after more that two and one-half pounds was located in their vehicle.

Both were placed in the county jail awaiting $100,000 bonds each. Trafficking in marijuana is a Class A felony, the most serious type of felony. Arresting officer was Deputy Steve Carlisle.

Early the next morning, Johnathan Oneal Pernell, 24 and Grace Leanne Roberts, 26, both of Jackson were arrested for marijuana possession after several small baggies of marijuana were found in their vehicle. Both have been released on bond. Carlisle was the arresting officer.

Also arrested was Eriskey Crowell, 25, of Jackson after a small quantity of marijuana was found in his vehicle. He was also released on bond. He was arrested by Chief Clint Harrell.
