One of the many new RV parks in the area is now open for business. Cheryl's RV Park is located at the old rest area on U.S. Highway 43 nearWagarville. It is owned by Cheryl and Joe Chestang of Creola. Tim Parnell serves as manager of the park. He said there are currently 25 spots ready for recreational vehicles and travel trailers. Plans are to add 25 more spaces in the near future and eventually expanding to a total of 75 spaces in all. Water and sewer are provided, as well as firewood for use in building campfires. Parnell said the largely wooded area gives those renting spaces the opportunity to view nature at its best. Currently nine travel trailers are utilizing spaces at the park, which was built in anticipation of the ThyssenKrupp steel plant's construction. (SA photo by Evan Carden) |
