Pace reunion Sept. 29 at VFW in Jackson

Descendants of Allen and Ruby Etheredge Pace will gather for a family reunion Saturday, Sept. 29, 9 a.m. at the VFW Club in Jackson. Family members are asked to bring lunch and all necessary accompaniments for the noon meal.

Friends are invited to visit during the day.

Narcotics Anonymous meet Tuesday

Narcotics Anonymous will be meeting Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, 302 E. Church St., Jackson.

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are conducted in the fellowship hall of Visitation Catholic Church, West Clinton Street in Jackson Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m.

VFW 5355 meetings

The VFW Post 5355 and ladies and auxiliary meets the third Thursday of every month, 6 p.m., at the VFW Club on Club Wiley Road.

Members are urged to attend and new members are welcome.

Diabetes Classes

Sullivan Family hosting Fall Homecoming Festival

The Sullivan Family will host a Fall Homecoming Festival and Band Reunion Oct. 18-20 at the Sullivan Family Homeplace Park, 9 miles south of Jackson and 1 mile off Highway 43, near St. Stephens.

The event will feature groups from the Bluegrass Gospel Association and special guests. For more information call 251-246-4553.

Coffeeville RSVP meets Oct. 2 at nutrition center

The Coffeeville RSVP will meet Oct. 2, 2 p.m. at the nutrition center. Mayor Faye Cotton will be the guest speaker.

Mississippi Pecan Festival is Sept. 28-30

This year the Mississippi Pecan Festival will host "History Retold" Sept. 28-30. Two reconstructed log homes will be presented that are more than 100 years old, the Jones and Dunnam houses.

Festival goers will be able to watch lye soap being made, talk to the farmer in the victory garden, view the chicken yard, sample homemade jellies in the kitchen of the Jones' house, view quilting on the Dunnam porch, and a live demonstration of split rail fencing. A wagon and draft horses will fill the corn crib with this year's crop.

Annual Fall Gospel Singing in downtown Fulton

The Fulton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad is hosting their annual Fall Gospel Singing, Oct. 6, 3:30 p.m. - until in downtown Fulton. Local talent includes: Bridgette Shewmake, Darlene Phillips, Donald Pugh, Warren Harrell, Wayne Campbell, Rev. & Scotty, Centurions Quartet, Dixie Disciples, Grateful Heart, Glory Road Quartet and the Good News Quartet.

In addition there will be a cake auction and door prizes. In case of rain, singing will be in the Fulton School auditorium. Bring a chair and enjoy the fun.

W.V. Bedwell reunion on Oct. 14

The W.V. Bedwell family reunion will be Sunday, Oct. 14 at his residence, 2367 Sandflat Road. For more information call 334-636-2696. Bring a covered dish and enjoy the day. All family and friends are invited.

Auburn Club meets Saturday

The Clarke-Washington Auburn Club will meet at the Downtown Grill in Jackson on Saturday, Sept. 29 to watch the Auburn/Florida game. Kickoff time is set for 7 p.m., so plan to meet 30 minutes prior to that time. Participants are responsible for their meal, if you choose to eat. Call Clint Brown with any questions, 334-332-7537.

24th Jackson Academy fund-raiser tickets on sale

The 24th annual Jackson Academy fund-raiser tickets are now available for a $100 donation each. Only 200 will be available with the drawing for the winning four tickets Monday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m. in the Jackson Academy gymnasium. Participants do not have to be present to win. Proceeds go to the athletic association. Tickets will be drawn in this order: 1st place, $5,000; 2nd, $2,500; 3rd, $1,500; 4th, $1,000.
