Maggie Bailey, granddaughter of Dot and Carl Atchison of Salitpa, will suit up for the University of Alabama women's soccer team this season. Bailey, a 2007 graduate of the Altamont School in Birmingham, is a UA Presidential Scholar and will play for Coach Don Staley as a defender after surviving threea days in the recent 100-degree plus heat wave. For the first time in 10 years and just the second since 1984 the Sweet Water High School Bulldogs walked off the gridiron winners on the scoreboard against their arch-rival Thomasville High School.
