The veteran newsman Larry King has interviewed presidents, royalty and a variety of other influential newsmakers from around the world on his "Larry King Live" that appears on CNN. The program draws an average of 1.1 million daily viewers.

He recently interviewed Paris Hilton in her first TV chat after her release from her much touted jail stay. That interview drew some 3.2 million viewers, nearly triple the average audience.

Depressing isn't it? We do not understand what intrigues people so about this blonde party girl.

If people would be as interested in hearing people who affect national and world issues, this old globe might be a better place.
