In supporting the Sweet Dreams program at White Smith Memorial Library in Jackson, the staff presented a program titled, “Christmas On The Back Porch” on Thursday, Dec. 14.
Children were encouraged to bring their blankets and pillows and dress in pajamas to listen to volunteers, Colette J. Chivers singing Christmas carols and Jan South reading Christmas stories.
Santa also made a special appearance and listened to each child tell what they wanted for Christmas. He also brought coloring books and cookies for each child.
More than 60 children dressed in pajamas attended the program. Jackson Police Officer Jason Thomas came for a visit to accept the toys each child had brought to donate to Operation Christmas.
