Bears ready to roll!
The Leroy Bears are ready to roll to Birmingham for a shot at their second state title in three years. The team came away with a 34- 7 surprise blowout victory of Houston Academy. The Bears will be in the 2A state championship game for the third time in six seasons. They have made it to the semi-finals for three consecutive seasons and to the quarter-finals for five out of seven seasons. They will have a rematch with the state championship team from two years ago, the Bobcats from Woodland. For details about this past Friday’s game see today’s sports section. Other area teams heading for Birmingham include the Thomasville Tigers and the Sweet Water Bulldogs.
