Coffeeville PD report A weekend driver’s license checkpoint in Coffeeville resulted in one man being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Ryan Bedgood, 30 of Grand Bay, was stopped by police after refusing to stop at a driver’s license checkpoint. Bedgood was pursued by Chief Clint Harrell and stopped a short distance down the road. It was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. There was also an open bottle of beer found in the center console of his vehicle. Bedgood was arrested for DUI and illegal possession of alcohol. Harrell searched the individual and found a small baggy of cocaine in his pocket. A search of his vehicle revealed several Lorotab pills, but no prescription bottle was located.
He was placed in the Clarke County Jail and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to obey police and illegal possession of alcohol.
