Chatom Christmas parade is Saturday

The sights and sounds of Christmas will fill the streets of downtown Chatom Saturday, with a visit from ole' St. Nick.

The town will host its annual Christmas Parade at 10 a.m., Dec. 2, with lineup for all parade participants behind the high school, beginning at 8:30 a.m. for entries to be judged.

Shortly before the beginning of the parade, most downtown streets will be blocked to through traffic. Parade-goers can expect the procession to follow the usual route. Those attending the event will be treated to plenty of opportunities to satisfy their sweet tooth as candy flies from the floats.

Santa will also make an appearance, so all kids attending should be on their best behavior. Although his schedule is demaning, as usual, he will take the time to make his list of who has been naughty and who has been nice.
