JHS Lady Aggies are set to play in Choctaw tourney

The Jackson High School Lady Aggies basketball team continued their season with two tough losses to good opponents.

The Lady Aggies took a tough 63-39 defeat to the defending 1A state champions in the McIntosh Demons. Genisus Bernard added 12 points while Shanavia Ervin knocked down 8 points. McIntosh was led by Alexis Broussard with 22 points and Brittney Simmons with 12 points.

The Lady Aggies also lost to the Lady Jags from Hillcrest- Evergreen 40-34 on Saturday night. Bernard had 7 points while Alexandria Jones added 6

points. Kayler Thomas paced Hillcrest-Evergreen with 16 points.

The Lady Aggies will play Friday in the Choctaw County Tournament against Clarke County. The winner of that game will face the winner of Choctaw County and Marengo on Saturday.
