Geraldine Bailey Campbell

Geraldine Bailey Campbell, 78, a resident of Leroy, died Oct. 11, 2006 at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert P. Campbell of Leroy; two sons, Louis A. Rhodes of Helena and Thomas O. Campbell of Mobile; daughter, Theresa Elaine Leech of Clifton, Va. and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Anne Rhodes.

Agraveside service was Oct. 13 in the New Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Watkins officiating.

Pallbearers were Elaine Leech, John Leech, Tommy Campbell, Louis Rhodes, Ben Rhodes, Amy Rhodes, Elizabeth Rhodes and Ashley Leech.

William Dewey Jones

William Dewey Jones, 55, died Oct. 15, 2006 in a Mobile hospital. He was a native of Citronelle and a resident of Fruitdale. He was self-employed in the logging business.

He is survived by four sons, Jason Jones, Jeremy Beech, Nicholas Jones and Wayne Jones, all of Fruitdale; father, George William Jones of Fruitdale; brother, Crawford Jones of Lucedale, Miss.; sister, Drusilla Turner of Chatom and seven grandchildren.

The funeral service was Oct. 18 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with the Rev. Dewayne Williams officiating. Interment was in the Fairhope Baptist Cemetery in Chatom.

Dave Adams Sr.

Dave Adams Sr., 92, a retired boatman and a native and resident of McIntosh, died Oct. 15, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Langs Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in McIntosh where he served as a trustee, class leader and worship leader. He also served as past worshipful master of Lodge 141. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Adams I and Annis Watson Adams.

Survivors include six sons, the Rev. Dave (Rosie) Adams Jr. and Sexton (Sylvia) Adams, all of McIntosh, Sylvester (Geraldine) Adams of Milan, Tenn., Louis Henry (Lula Jean) Adams and James Edward (Tracie) Adams, all of Buffalo, N.Y. and Kenny Ray (Barbara) Adams of New Hempstead, N.Y.; four daughters, Clara M. Bush of Buffalo, Annie L. (Eddie) Reed and Virchus T. (Aaron) Reed and Sandra F. Reed, all of McIntosh; brother, J.C. Adams Sr. of McIntosh; 53 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 21, 11 a.m. at Langs Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Alvin Hamilton, pastor, officiating. Viewing will be on Saturday at the church from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in Vaughn Cemetery with Andrews Funeral Home directing.

Hollis Eugene Woods

Hollis Eugene Woods, a native of Deer Park and a resident of Chatom, died Oct. 10, 2006 in the Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom at the age of 71. Aretired shipyard worker, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ray Sr. and Della Turner Woods and four brothers, Melvin T. Woods, Walter L. Woods, Joseph Ray Woods Jr. and Clyde A. Woods.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Woods of Antioch, Calif., three daughters, Thaillia Woods, Carman Woods and Schalon Woods, all of Antioch; two stepsons, Larry (Cynthia) Fennell of Deer Park and Gerald (Elaine) Rasheed of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Mary (A.R.) Grimes of Theodore and Martha (A.C.) Bivens of Deer Park; devoted sister-in-law, Ethel Woods of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, George (Annie Lewis) Woods of Deer Park and Carl (Dessie) Woods of Milwaukee and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service was Oct. 18 at the New Light Baptist Church of Deer Park with the Rev. Lee Arthur Taylor Sr., pastor and eulogist. Burial was in the church cemetery with Andrews Funeral Home directing.

Thomas Littleton Walker

Thomas Littleton Walker, a native of Beachton, Ga., died Oct. 10, 2006 at Hospitality Care Nursing Home in Thomasville, Ga. He was a retired owner of a drycleaners, served in banking in Dublin, Ga. and with the Bank of Grady County and served as the tax commissioner for Grady County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served on the board of deacons and sang in the choir for more than 30 years. A member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lanora Kinchen Walker and his first wife, Jewel Reagan Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Singley Walker of Cairo, Ga.; two sons, Tommy (Julie) Walker of Albany, Ga. and Steve Walker of Cairo; two stepchildren, Cindy Allday of Cairo and Michael Finch of Lafayette, La.; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was Oct. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Cairo with Dr. Ron McCaskill and Dr. Joe Allen, officiating. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo.

Pallbearers were Drew Walker, Matt Walker, Thomas Walker, Jared Blanton Walker, Clay Cooper and Andy Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the board of deacons at the First Baptist Church and the Kiwanis Club.
