Fire destroys mobile home
The Jackson Fire Department ended Fire Prevention Week by responding to a fire around 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, on St. Elmo Road, just north of the Jackson city limits. The trailer, owned by Tawanna Wright, was a total loss, according to a spokesperson for the fire department. When firefighters arrived on the scene the blaze was fully involved. The department also responded to calls in the Carlton area on Friday and Saturday afternoons, due to controlled burns that were feared to be getting out of hand.
