Most teams prepare for a week of decisions
By Jeremy Sellers SA Columnist

Leroy Basketball Coach Brian Henry is the guest prognosticator for the week.
With only three weeks of region play to go, things are starting to get interesting around the AHSAA. We now have a new No. 1 ranked 4A team in T.R. Miller after they knocked off Thomasville. This week, Leroy High School Basketball and Softball Coach Brian Henry is the guest on my column.

Clarke Co. vs Wash Co.

This game has probably been the hardest game to predict all season. Both of these teams are very sound in their games in 3A Region 1. Clarke County has got a tough running back in Kenneth Kimbrough while Washington County has a good quarterback in Kyle Pennington. Predictions: Jeremy- CCHS 28, WCHS 21 Coach Henry- WCHS 24, CCHS 21.

Clarke Prep vs

Cottage Hill.

The Gators are in a must win situation against Cottage Hill, who is having a pretty good season. Clarke Prep suffered a tough loss last week to Bessemer.

Predictions: Jeremy- CH 31, CPS 24. Coach Henry- CH 28, CPS 21..

Coffeeville vs Frisco City

Coffeeville is still looking for their first win of the season, and it would have to come against a tough Whippit squad. Frisco should come away easy with this one Predictions: Jeremy- FCHS 49, CHS 6. Coach Henry- FCHS 55, CHS 0.

JA vs Southern The Jackson Academy Eagles are on a role as they have combined for 104 points in their previous two ball games. This week, Southern comes into Jackson undefeated. Predictions: Jeremy- SA 49, JA 6. Coach Henry- SA 63, JA 0.

Leroy vs So. Choctaw

Finally, we have gotten to this game again, Leroy vs Southern Choctaw. Leroy lost to the Indians at 'The Reservation' twice last season, both in heartbreaking fashion. This time, Leroy comes in ranked No. 4 and Southern Choctaw will be at No. 5 Predictions: Jeremy- LHS 21, SCHS 8. Coach Henry- LHS 14, SCHS 8.

Millry vs Blacksher

Blacksher will be hosting Millry, looking to keep that winning streak alive. Millry is trying to hang on for their life after hanging on against J.F. Shields last week 14-6. Predictions Jeremy- JUB 28. MHS 13. Coach Henry- JUB 21, MHS 7.

Thomasville vs Escambia

Thomasville took a hard loss last week to T.R. Miller and took a hard fall to No. 4 in the poll. Escambia is coming off of a huge win against the Jackson Aggies last week 42-28 in Atmore. The Blue Devils will have to travel north to Thomasville this season.

Predictions: Jeremy- THS 31, EHS 14. Coach Henry- THS 24, ECHS 14.

McIntosh vs J.F. Shields

McIntosh is coming off of a huge win over the Coffeeville Panthers last week 63-0 while Shields took a tough defensive loss to Millry 14-6. McIntosh should hold an edge in this matchup in a huge area game.

Predictions: Jeremy- MHS 32. JFS 13. Coach Henry- MHS 21, JFS 16.

Jackson vs T.R. Miller

Jackson took a hard loss to Escambia in Atmore on Friday night while Miller moved theirself into first place by defeating Thomasville. Is it possible that Miller may come in with a big head? Predictions Jeremy- TRMHS 21, JHS 18. Coach Henry- TRMHS 36, JHS 12.

Choctaw vs Sumter

Choctaw took a tough loss last week to Hayneville while Sumter grabbed a big win. Sumter should hold an edge here as Choctaw County will travel up Highway 17 to York. Predictions: Jeremy- SCHS 38, CCHS 14. Coach Henry- CCHS 24, SCHS 20.

Alabama vs Ole Miss

The Crimson Tide had a scare last week early on against the Duke Blue Devils. They look to pick up their second SEC win in Tuscaloosa against the Ole Miss Rebels Predictions: Jeremy- UA 24, UM 10. Coach Henry- UM 14, UA 9.

Auburn vs Florida

Auburn was upset from their No. 2 spot last week by Arkansas and looks to regain on that. Florida moved into the No. 2 spot afterwards. Predictions: Jeremy- AU 21, UF 14. Coach Henry- AU

14, UF 10.
