James Chapel

Baptist Church

Pastor Osbry Millender, the members and officers of James Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend invite everyone to attend their annual homecoming and revival Oct. 22-26.

Pastor Millender will deliver the homecoming message on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 11:30 a.m.

The revival will begin on Monday, Oct. 23 with the Rev. Wilson Gibby, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Wainwright delivering the message.

On Tuesday, the Rev. Tommie Moore, pastor of Union Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend will be the evangelist.

The Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville will bring the message Wednesday.

Bringing the message Thursday will be the Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff.

Revival services will be at 7 each evening.

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Carlton will be conducting its Pastor Appreciation Day on Sunday, Oct. 22.

Associate Minister Kenny Hines of the Christian Union Baptist Church in Mobile will bring the message at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Jesse Lowe Jr., pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Wilmer will be the speaker at 2 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend, said the Rev. Lee Bush Jr.

Stave Creek

Baptist Church

Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson will be hosting a Fall Revival beginning Sunday, Oct. 22 and continuing through Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Dr. Mack Morris of Woodridge Baptist Church in Mobile, will be the guest speaker and Marty Townsend of First Baptist Church in Chatom will lead the worship service.

Special guests at the Sunday service will be Linda and Erin Phillips, mother and sister of N.Y. Yankee first baseman, Andy Phillips.

Pastor Mike Maloy invites everyone to attend.

Three Forks

Baptist Church

The Three Forks Baptist Church in Bigbee will be hosting its homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Music will be at 10:30 a.m. with worship at 11.

Lunch will be served and everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.

Pastor Bob Dean invites everyone to come and celebrate.

Thomasville Church

of Christ

The Thomasville Church of Christ, located at the corner of West 3rd and Worl, will be conducting its Gospel meeting Oct. 21-22.

Services on Saturday evening will be at 7:30 and Sunday's services at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Free Mission

District Association

The 135th and 103rd annual session of the Free Mission District Association will be conducted Oct. 20-21 at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson beginning at 9 a.m., the Rev. D.W. Moore, pastor.

All advisors, supervisors, counselors and members of the youth and women's auxiliaries are expected to attend.

Missionaries and those who love the Lord are welcome to attend, said the Rev. James M. Howard, moderator and Edythe Daffin White, president of the Women's Auxiliary.

New St. Matthew

Baptist Church

The New St. Matthew Baptist Church in the Lily Valley community of Jackson, will be celebrating its annual homecoming and church anniversary on Oct. 22 at 3 p.m.

Special guest speaker will be the Rev. Kelvin Maye, pastor of William Chapel Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

The revival will be conducted Monday through Friday, Oct. 23-27, at 7 each evening.

Evangelist for the week will be the Rev. D.W. Moore, pastor of Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson.

Pastor Kevin Boykin and chairperson, Theodore Fox, invite everyone to attend.

Washington Baptist

Association

The 87th annual meeting of the Washington Baptist Association will convene on Monday, Oct. 16 from 6:45-9 p.m. at the Fairhope Baptist Church, located on Highway 17 south of Chatom, and on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 8:45 a.m. until 12 noon at the Laton Hill Baptist Church, located on Highway 56 west of Chatom followed with lunch.

The Rev. John Shiver, pastor of Wagarville Baptist Church, will preach the annual sermon and Dr. Bob Terry, editor of The Alabama Baptist, will give the missionary message.

Other speakers will include Jerry Garrard, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Karen Bell, Pathways Christian Counseling, Ray Baker, Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, and Loyd Kindiger, missions coordinator for District 7.

St. Peter's

Episcopal Church

St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Jackson, will be celebrating the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Sunday, Oct. 15 with the "blessing of the pets" ceremony.

Worship service is at 11 a.m. with the blessing to follow at 12:30, allowing time between the service and the blessing to return home to bring the pets.

Everyone is invited to bring their pets and participate in the ceremony, said the Rev. Dr. Robert Nichols III, pastor.

Okalona Methodist

Protestant Church

Okalona Methodist Protestant Church, located north of Grove Hill on Swimming Pool Road, will be hosting their annual homecoming and revival Oct. 15-18.

Homecoming will begin with singing by "Crimson City" at 10 a.m. Preaching will be at 11 followed with lunch and afternoon singing.

Revival services will begin on Monday, Oct. 16 and continue through Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker for homecoming and revival services will be the Rev. Wayne Hunt from Meridian, Miss.

Pastor is Ron Giles. Everyone is invited to attend.

Mt. Olive No. 1

Baptist Church

Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville will be celebrating its annual Women's Day program on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m.

Speaker will be Lula Bell Worthy.

Pastor Kevin Jackson invites everyone to attend.

Millry Baptist Church

Millry Baptist Church will be conducting its annual "Celebrate Jesus Blast" (Halloween alternative) on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 3-5 p.m.

Free Mission District

Association youth

All the youth counselors, choir members and musicians of the Free Mission District Association Churches are asked to attend a meeting on Monday, Oct. 16 at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson.

The youth counselors will meet from 6-7 p.m. and the choir and musicians from 7-8, according to Harriette Douglas, youth director and musician.

The Rev. James M. Howard is moderator of the association and the Rev. D.W. Moore is pastor.

Pleasant Grove Baptist

Church

The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, located at 9025 Winn Road, will be conducting its fall homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 15.

There will be a singing in the afternoon featuring L.C. James and the Conventional Singers.

John Gillis will be the morning speaker. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a covered dish for lunch.

Wagarville Baptist Church

Homecoming service will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m. with a dinner to follow at Wagarville Baptist Church.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry Thompson of Chatom.

Pastor John Shiver invites everyone to attend.

Cedar Point

Baptist Church

A Women and Men's Day program is planned for Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Point Baptist Church located on Highway 31 in the West Bend community.

Speaker for the women's department will be member Janice Cox.

The Rev. Hurley James and his congregation of St. Paul Baptist Church in Salitpa, will be the speaker and special guests for the men's department.

"Come and praise the Lord with us," said the Rev. James Chaney, pastor.

Greater Pilgrim Rest

Baptist Church

The Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs revival will continue through Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 nightly.

Evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Michael Howard, pastor of True Light Missionary Baptist Church in Prichard.

Pastor Mulvoy Taylor Jr. and chairperson, Lureatha Brown, invite everyone to attend.
