Fire Prevention Week Oct. 8-14

The Jackson Fire Department will kick off Fire Prevention Week with church inspections on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Immediately following inspections, members of the JFD will attend the First Baptist Church for Sunday morning church service.

The annual Fire Prevention Banquet will be Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the H.W. Pearce Memorial Park Assembly House. This year's Fire Prevention Queen and her court will be presented at that time. The Fire Prevention Parade will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 3:30 p.m. Lineup will begin at 2:30 p.m., with floats lining up on the road behind Gillmore School and marching groups assembling on Mayton Drive. All fire equipment will line up on Forest Avenue.

As the parade begins, the two groups will merge at the intersection on College and Forest avenues and proceed toward downtown.

The parade will disband in the Vanity Fair parking lot past Jackson City Hall.

The Jackson Fire Department expresses its thanks to everyone who has given to this year's fund-raising drive.
