Church Announcements Union Missionary District Assn. to sponsor benefit The Union Missionary District Association will be sponsoring a benefit banquet on Saturday, Oct. 7, 4 p.m. at the Christian Religious Center in Choctaw Bluff. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Brian Chapman. Cost of tickets is $12.50 per person. For more information call 246-9784 or 246-2071. New Hope Methodist Church The Sullivan Family of St. Stephens will be singing at the annual homecoming service at New Hope Methodist Church in Frankville on Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon followed by dinner on the grounds. Special guest speaker will be the Rev. V. Riley Richardson, a former pastor of the church who is originally from the community. The Rev. Julie Wasser, another former pastor of the church who is currently serving at a church in Alaska, will also be attending. The Rev. Nadine Brewster Walters, pastor, invites everyone to attend. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church The Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, located at 9025 Winn Road, will be conducting its fall homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 15. There will be a singing in the afternoon featuring L.C. James and the Conventional Singers. John Gillis will be the morning speaker. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a covered dish for lunch. Wagarville Baptist Church Homecoming service will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 15, 10:30 a.m. with a dinner to follow at Wagarville Baptist Church. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry Thompson of Chatom. Pastor John Shiver invites everyone to attend. Cedar Point Baptist Church A Women and Men's Day program is planned for Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Point Baptist Church located on Highway 31 in the West Bend community. Speaker for the women's department will be member Janice Cox. The Rev. Hurley James and his congregation of St. Paul Baptist Church in Salitpa, will be the speaker and special guests for the men's department. "Come and praise the Lord with us," said the Rev. Inspirational Tabernacle Church Inspirational Tabernacle Church will be celebrating a Love Day for Carrie Alston on Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m. Gifts and donations will be greatly appreciated. Olive No. II Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson will be observing their homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 8. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. with worship service at 11. The fall revival will begin on Monday, Oct. 9 and continue through Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 nightly. Evangelist for the week will be Dr. Edsel Davis, state director of Christian Education in Birmingham. Pastor D.W. Moore invites everyone to come and celebrate. Walker Springs Cemetery Association There will be a meeting of the Walker Springs Cemetery Association on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Walker Springs. Anyone having an interest in Mt. Gilead or Hopewell cemeteries, is invited to attend the business session to make plans for the upkeep and improvements. Spencer Chapel A.M.E. Church The Spencer Chapel A.M.E. Church in Fulton will be conducting an Appreciation Program in honor of its pastor, the Rev. W.L. Lesueur on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Andrew Dawkins of Montgomery. The public is invited to attend the celebration. St. Peter Baptist Church The revival at St. Peter Baptist Church in Grove Hill will continue through Friday, Oct. 6, 7:30 nightly. The Rev. Leonard Frazier of Stonewall Baptist Church in Mt.
