You got your money's worth when you layed down your $5 last Friday night at Anderson Field as the Thomasville Tigers outlasted the Jackson Aggies 27-18 in a key region game as well as a county rival game.

The Tigers came out in the first quarter, using a classic Wing-T drive and chewed up 88 yards on 12 plays to find the end zone.

Fullback Roya Campbell had the honor of capping the drive with a 3-yard blast.

Cameron Dunagan kicked the PAT and Thomasville had a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.

In the second quarter Jackson responded when quarterback Kent Myer found lanky receiver Demarquis Besteda with a 53-yard scoring strike.

The conversion failed but the Aggies drew closer 7-6.

The two defenses held each team at bay with the first ending with Thomasville on top 76.

In the third quarter Campbell gathered in the opening kick off from Jackson and raced 73 yards down to the Aggie 16yard line.

Four plays later quarterback Jake Overstreet called his own number on a 9-yard keeper.

Dunagan again converted the point-after touchdown and Thomasville increased the lead to 14-6.

The Aggies seemed unfazed by the scoring action as they took the ball and moved to pay dirt.

The combination of Myer to Besteda connected again, this time on a 48-yard TD pass.

The try for two came up short, leaving Thomasville with a slim 14-12 lead as the third quarter came to a close.

In the fourth Thomasville put together another patented drive covering 63 yards on seven plays.

Campbell slipped through a seam and scored on a 7-yard run.

In the scoring drive Daril Jackson gathered in a big catch on 3-and-15 to keep the drive alive.

There was a bad snap on the conversion attempt, but Thomasville added to the lead 20-12. Jackson again went to the

well that had produced points as Myer found Besteda for the 22-yard score with just over a minute left to play.

The try for two came up short, leaving the Tigers in the lead 20-18.

Thomasville got possession on the on-side kick attempt and in the closing seconds Overstreet broke containment and scored on a 73-yard run.

Dunagan's kick made the final score 27-18 as the topranked Tigers dodged the big bullet in the form of the Jackson Aggies.

Overstreet led all rushers with 151 yards on 13 carries with two scores. Campbell was the workhorse as he gained 122 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns.

Overstreet was also 5-of-14 passing for 60 yards.

This Friday the Tigers (3-0, 2-0) take to the road as they go to East Brewton to take on W.S. Neal in another big region matchup.

The Aggies (1-2, 1-1) look to rebound as they return home to play Southside-Selma.

Both games kick off at 7 p.m. at their respective home stadiums.
