Leroy fire district rates go down
By Jeremy Sellers SA Reporter

Acitizen in the town of Leroy recently received his insurance bill for the past year. In totals, the price he pays per year went from $1,663.98 to $790.02 per year.

The reason for this drop is the Leroy Volunteer Fire Department went from a Class-9 rating to a Class-6 rating. This means if you live within approximately 1500 feet of a fire plug or hydrant within the Leroy Fire District, you would be eligible for this discount. If you are not already receiving this, check with your insurance company. This went into effect Sept. 6.

"Anyone who is not within distance required, talk to a member of the Leroy VFD. We want to be able for everyone to have this rating," said Leroy Fire Chief Andy Elmore. "We also would like more people to get involved with the Leroy Fire Department."
