BTAPC conducting auditions Sunday The Ballet Theatre of Arts Performing Center (BTAPC) in Gilbertown will be casting the musical "Smoke on the Mountain". The first auditions will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 24 from 2-4 p.m. at the theatre. The play takes place in the sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, N.C., located just west of Hickory near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The cast parts available are Mervin Oglethorpe, church minister, Burl Sanders, father, late 40s, Vera Sanders, mother, mid-40s, Stanley Sanders, uncle, late 40s, Dennis and Denise Sanders, twins, 17 and June Sanders, sister, 23.
