Greater New Hope AMEC to honor Rev. James and family on Sept. 30 The Greater New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church in Millry's music department will be hosting a pre-anniversary musical on Saturday, Sept. 30, 6 p.m. in honor of the Rev. Ivory James and his family. The New True Light Baptist Church, New Rock Baptist Church and the Pearlie Grove Baptist Church choirs will be performing. On Sunday, Oct. 1, the Rev. Thaddeus Douglas, associate minister at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church in Jackson will be the 11 a.m. guest speaker. Guest speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be the Rev. T.L. Douglas, pastor of Grove Hill Baptist Church in Uriah and Mackey Branch No. 2 Baptist Church in Gosport.
The public is invited to attend.
