Mr. and Mrs. Phillips celebrate 65th wedding anniversary Aug. 16

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Phillips

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Phillips of Leroy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16, 2006.

Mrs. Phillips is the former Bonnie Etheredge of Coffeeville.

Mr. Phillips is a U.S. Army veteran.

The couple has six children, Skeeter Phillips of Jackson, Bonnie Tolbert of Sunflower, Steve Phillips, Donna Wiggins and Rebecca Bozeman, all of Leroy and Linda Wallace of Atlanta, Ga., 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Three of the Phillips' children, Skeeter, Donna and Rebecca, celebrated the couple's anniversary by taking them out for lunch.

Also pictured with the couple above is their dog "Trip".
