Approximately $160,000 will be available; $80,000 for each initiative. In 2008, the grant committee may revise its initiatives to focus on other areas of community interest. These grant initiatives are open to qualified nonprofits with an IRS 501(c)(3) tax determination and to government agencies in all eight counties. The Community Foundation serves Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties. Application deadlines for the two main grants are: Oct. 2, education (awarded in December) and Feb. 1, 2007, arts (awarded in April).
