WashCo. School System asks for help in locating children with disabilities

The Washington County Board of Education serves all children with disabilities as required by law.

This education agency has developed and is implementing "Child Find" procedures that ensure that all children within its jurisdiction, 3 to 21, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who need special education and related services, arc identified, located, and evaluated.

This "Child Find" effort applies to children who attend private school including children attending religious schools

within its jurisdiction, highly mobile children with disabilities (i.e. migrant and homeless children), and children who are suspected of having a disability and are in need of special education even though they are advancing from grade to grade. The areas of disabilities are:

*Hearing Impairment *Deaf-Blindness *Mental Retardation *Multiple Disabilities *Orthopedic Impairment *Other Health Impairment *Emotional Disturbance *Speech and Language Impairment

*Visual Impairment

*Specific Learning Disabilities *Autism *Traumatic Brain Injury *Developmental Delay
