WashCo Public Library plans big celebration this weekend
The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held from 3-8 p.m. and will feature loads of entertainment for those attending. Included in the celebration will be a jet fly over by the U.S. Coast Guard, a cake walk, moonwalks for the kids, raffles, door prizes, a dunking booth featuring local public officials, lots of free food and drinks, live music and a fireworks display at dusk. Visitors to the library that day are also encouraged to tour the facility and view the Ciba Science Center exhibit, "Astronomy-The Science of Space!" The exhibit features new interactive games and IMAX movies on the Ciba plasma screen TV, posters and star maps full of amazing facts, and a huge hanging solar system model. Those attending can also view the Genevieve Sotherland Art exhibit, which is a collection of treasured pieces from across the community by this well-known local artist.
