Murder in Prestwick The Washington County Sheriff's Department is on the hunt for the person or persons responsible for a shooting that occurred Monday night in Prestwick, which left one man dead and another injured. Shortly after 8 p.m., Jackson Police responded to a call from Jackson Medical Center stating that three shooting victims had shown up at the emergency room. One of the victims was said to have been in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital. Jackson dispatch was asked to contact the Washington County Sheriff's Department and Deputy Ronnie Sullivan responded to the scene. Deputy Sullivan reported the shooting victims to be Norman May, who received shots from a shotgun to his legs and Clayton McDonald who was shot with another type of firearm in his upper body. The driver of the vehicle, André Herring was not shot. McDonald died a short time later from his wounds. "The three victims stated that they were just riding down the road through the Prestwick community when someone began shooting at them," said Sullivan. "They said that they did not know who shot at them nor why." Sullivan said investigation into the matter is continuing and once the shooter or shooters are apprehended they will face murder charges. He estimated the ages of the victims to be in their early to mid-20s. Assisting in the investigation were Chief Deputy John Traylor, Deputy Donnie Sullivan, Wesley Knapp and District Attorney Spencer Walker.
