Bertie Mae Powell Woodyard Bertie Mae Powell Woodyard died Aug. 24, 2006 at her residence in Leroy. She was 88. Retired from Vanity Fair as a seamstress, she was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Leroy. She was a Leroy Senior Citizen VIP, and a member of the Wagarville Nutrition Center. She is survived by two sons, Joe Woodyard of Leroy and Tarzan Connerly of Northport, Fla.; stepson, George Wilder Woodyard of Choctaw, Okla; three daughters, Juanita Conerly Catrett of Sunflower, Flora Woodyard Pettis and Mary Woodyard Guy, both of Leroy; three stepdaughters, Louise Woodyard Anderson of Jackson, Catherine Woodyard Trott of Saraland and Frankie Woodyard Havard of Chickasaw; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Aug. 26 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
