Myra Gayle Faith became the bride of Thomas Scott Hamilton in a double ring ceremony Aug. 12, 2006 at 6 p.m. The garden wedding at her parents' cottage in St. Stephens was officiated by the bride's aunt, Gloria B. Jackson of Lakeland, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Leland Faith of St. Stephens. She is the granddaughter of Glendine H. Beech and the late Rev. Leroy Beech and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Jefferson Faith.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hamilton of Jackson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hamilton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harvey.

Vows were spoken before an improvised altar flanked by lighted candles. Two stands of green plants with miniature white flowers and tulle bows decorated the altar. Ferns were used in the background.

Porch rails were decorated with swags of greenery interspersed with miniature white flowers and lights. Assorted ferns lined the steps leading to the porch with hanging baskets of lavender flowers decorating the porch.

Handbells were rung by Cody Beck and Laila Hamilton, son of the bride and daughter of the groom, to signal the beginning of the ceremony.

Soloists were Kimberly Faith Watts and Jeff Faith.

Ushers were Tyler Faith and Zackary Faith.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal-length white sheath gown with lace overlay. The neckline was enhanced with crystal beads. She carried a bouquet of deep pink roses, baby's breath and greenery.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the bride's father presented to the bridal couple, the original framed marriage certificate of her grandparents, L. J. and Ruthie Grimes Faith, who were married on the same date in 1933. The day of the wedding was also the birthday of the bride and groom.

Reception

The reception followed the ceremony.

Food tables were set up under a tent decorated with miniature white lights. Refreshments included pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans and coleslaw.

The bride and groom's table held a three-tiered cake decorated with pink roses and topped with a bride and groom figurine with a guardian angel. The groom's cake of chocolate was also topped with a bride and groom figurine.
