Annual Jackson Area COC dinner is set for Sept. 7
By LaShaunda Holly COC Director

The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting on Thursday, Sept. 7 at the H.W. Pearce Park Assembly House. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

This year's meeting has a different twist. Five restaurants/ caterers in the Jackson area have agreed to serve heavy hors d'oeuvres for this networking social. They are Doshia's, Casa Grande, The Magnolia, The Old Democrat Deli & Bakery and Lake Marie Restaurant.

Entertainment will be provided by Chuck Affholter. All businesses in the Jackson area are invited to attend. You are encouraged to bring your business cards. There is no fee to attend, but donations are welcome.

An election of new board members will be held the night of the meeting. This year four new board members will be elected to serve three-year terms. This year's nominees are Thomas Ott, Althea Thomas, Kiki Scott-Moore, DeAnne Wilson, Joel Stadtlander, Anita Overton, Terry Pezent and Clint Brown.

The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce would like to express its gratitude to the outgoing board members, each of whom worked diligently to improve our organization and the Jackson community. Kevin Boleware served as president of the board of directors and was in charge of organizing the Fall Festival. Tom Henley served as the vice president and on the Entertainment Committees. Chris Bailey has served on the Food Vendor Committee. Each of these board members dedicated their time above and beyond what is expected of volunteers. The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce is better because of their unselfish deeds these past three years.
