Indictments for murder handed down Three McIntosh men were indicted last week by a Washington County grand jury in connection with the murder of a McIntosh man who died months after he was allegedly injured by the suspects. Joseph Weaver, 29, and Virgil Weaver, 21, are both charged with capital murder in the November 2005 death of Willis Malone. Randy Snow, 19, is charged with conspiracy in the crime because he is accused of lending the pair a four-wheeler, which they allegedly used to leave the mobile home that burned down with the victim inside. The incident took place on Sept. 4 and began as a robbery of approximately $2,000 worth of cocaine. According to court records, prosecutors allege that the Weavers went to Malone's mobile home to rob him. Malone was tied up and beaten during the robbery and Joseph Weaver is accused of emptying a jar of gasoline onto the victim then setting him on fire. The pair then allegedly left on the four-wheeler, which belonged to Snow. A neighbor noticed the trailer on fire and witnessed Malone exit the home nude and on fire. He died two months later in a Mobile hospital and had been unable to talk to investigators due to the seriousness of his injuries.
The Weavers are scheduled to appear in court next month.
