Mark Your Calendar LHS PTO Open House Leroy High School PTO will host open house on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. PTO encourages joining the PTO and supporting the school. All PTO members will be eligible for the drawing of door prizes. McIntosh Rescue Squad Labor Day BBQ The McIntosh Rescue Squad will sponsor a Labor Day barbecue Monday, Sept. 4. Jackson Quarterback Club to meet Sept. 11 The Jackson High School Quarterback Club will meet Monday, Sept. 11, 6 p.m. in the library at the school. Coffeeville VFD sponsoring Shrimp Boil The Coffeeville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a Shrimp Boil, Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highways 69 S and 84 W. Plates will $8 each or per pound. JHS season tickets for sale Season tickets for the 2006-2007 Jackson High School football season can be purchased in the school office. Call 246-2571 for more information. Coffeeville RSVP to meet The Coffeeville RSVP will be meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2 p.m. at the Coffeeville Nutrition Center. Members are invited to bring a friend. Beckham family reunion planned The descendants of Missouri and Frank Beckham will gather for a reunion set for Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Municipal Park in Jackson. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. All family members are encouraged to attend. There will also be a dinner on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2:15 p.m. JHS 1979 championship team to be recognized The Jackson High School Quarterback Club will recognize the members of the JHS 1979 championship football team on Sept. 22 during the pregame ceremony. VFW 5355 meetings The VFW Post 5355 and ladies auxiliary meets the third Thursday of every month, 6 p.m., at the VFW Club on Club Wiley Road. Members are urged to attend and new members are welcome. Sickle Cell support Sickle Cell education and support group meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. Diabetic support The Diabetic Support Group meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the dining room at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. Salvation Army is open The Salvation Army Store in Jackson is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The store is located in downtown Jackson in the old antique mall. Parden Family reunion Sept. 2 The Parden Family reunion will be Saturday, Sept. 2 at Bethel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Coffeeville. JHS Class of 1997 planning reunion The Jackson High School Class of 1997 is planning a 10-year reunion in 2007. Rehearsals begin for Monroeville concert The Monroeville Community Chorus will begin practice for its annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, September 5 at 6:00 PM. The Chorus will hold rehearsal at the Monroeville First Baptist Church Choir Suite due to renovations to Nettles Auditorium on the Monroeville campus of Alabama Southern Community College.
Rehearsals will be held every Tuesday at 6PM. The performance will be held Friday, December 1 at 7:00 PM at Nettles Auditorium.
