Four injured in wreck
A two-car collision on Highway 43 between Walker Springs Road and West Point Drive left four people injured Tuesday afternoon in Jackson. Jackson Police responded around 1:05 p.m. The injured were identified as Mary Martha Turner, 64 of Vinegar Bend, Al. and her husband, Noel Turner, 67. The Turner's were driving a 2002 Honda Accord (left photo). The others injured were Mary Denise Jackson, 29, of Jackson and Kella A. Doss, 30, of Jackson. They were occupying a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu (right photo). Jackson was trapped in the vehicle for 30 minutes while the Jackson Fire Department extricated her using the Jaws of Life. All of the injured were transported to Jackson Medical Center by ambulance. LifeFlight was called to the hospital to transport Mary Turner to USA Hospital in Mobile. The flight was aborted due to weather and Turner was eventually taken by ambulance. Noel Turner and Mary Jackson were both admitted to JMC. Doss was treated and released. The investigation revealed that Turner exited the Wal-Mart parking lot and pulled into the path of Jackson's vehicle, which was North, bound on Highway 43. Acting Sgt. Barry Fowler is the investigating officer.
