Stephanie Leavins
Leavins to perform at

Stave Creek Baptist

Stephanie Leavins will be performing a concert on Sunday, Sept. 3, 6 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson.

She was born with Muscular Dystrophy and has spent her entire life in a wheelchair. Her faith in God was only strengthened because of this handicap.

Leavins has used this opportunity to inspire and encourage audiences across the country.

She has devoted her life to telling people of God's love and mercy through her testimony and song.

Pastor Mike Maloy and youth and music minister, Darren Williams, invite everyone to attend.

Friendship Missionary

Baptist Church in Leroy

Pastor Charlie J. White and members of the congregation of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Leroy invite everyone to attend their homecoming service on Sunday, Aug. 27.

The Rev. Robert Jackson of St. Luke Baptist Church in Grove Hill will be the 3 p.m. guest speaker.

The revival will begin on Monday, Aug. 28 and continue through Friday, Sept. 1, 7 nightly.

Special guests will be the Rev. Johnnie F. Hartfield and his congregation from New Rock Baptist Church in Millry.

Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Carlton will be hosting a revival Aug. 28-Sept. 1.

Baptist Church

Mt. Sinai Baptist Church will be having their homecoming on Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m.

Pastor Larry Purifoy of Jackson Street Baptist Church will be the guest speaker and his congregation, the special guests.

The revival will begin on Monday, Sept. 11 and continue through Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:15 nightly.

Pastor Craig Westry of St. Paul Baptist Church in McIntosh will be the speaker.

Intercessory prayer will begin at 6:45 nightly.

Baptist Church

Following the Sunday, Aug. 27, 6 p.m. service at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson, the children and youth will host a thank you fellowship for the congregation. Featured guests will be the Excel Praise and Dance Team from Excel.

The thank you is in response to the support given allowing approximately 80 children, youth and adults to attend camp this summer.

Hot dogs, homemade ice cream and cookies will be served.

The youth will also celebrate the Rev. Mike Maloy's fifth anniversary as pastor.

Members are encouraged to bring a card of congratulations for the pastor and his wife.

A.M.E. Church

A homecoming and revival is planned for the week of Sept. 3-8 at St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff.

The Rev. Ivory James, pastor of Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church in Millry will be the 2:30 p.m. homecoming guest speaker on Sunday, Sept. 3.

The revival will begin on Monday, Sept. 4 and continue through Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 nightly.

Evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Ernest Erby, pastor of Pine Level Baptist Church in Arlington.

The Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor, invites everyone to participate.

St. Paul Missionary

Baptist Church

St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Salitpa will be celebrating their homecoming and revival, Aug. 26 through Sept. 1.

The celebration begins on Saturday, Aug. 26 with a Fun Day of activities from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the church grounds.

Sunday morning worship is 11:15 a.m.

Pastor Van Williams of New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker for the 2:30 p.m. service.

Nightly services begin at 7 with Pastor Craig Westry, pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in McIntosh as the evangelist.

"Journey to Financial

Freedom" "Journey to Financial Freedom", a Crown Financial Ministries seminar sponsored by the First Baptist and First United Methodist churches in Jackson, will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center on Aug. 25-26.

The seminar has been used to open the door to total financial freedom for thousands of Christian families, according to a spokesman for Crown Financial Ministries.

The Friday night session will begin at 7 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. and Saturday's session, 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served during the Saturday session.

James Chapel Baptist Church will be celebrating the 27th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Osbry Millender, on Sunday, Aug. 27.

Guest speaker for the 11:30 a.m. service will be the Rev. Charlie Woodard, pastor of St. Joseph Baptist Church in Loxley. The Rev. Robert Taylor, pastor of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Alma, will be the 2:30 p.m. speaker.
