The Millry Lady Wildcats volleyball team will be trying to improve on their 22-8 record from last season.

They will be coming into the new campaign after losing five seniors last season. The Wildcats will enter this season with three seniors in Krystal Hurd, Victoria Brown and Madison Cross.

"We have a lot of potential for this season," said Head Coach Ronnie Hubbert. "It all depends on how hard they want to work. If they want it, we can win."

The Wildcats will open up at Southern Choctaw on Aug. 24th and they will play their first home contest Aug. 28th also against Southern Choctaw.

"Somedays we have good practices and somedays we don't," said Hubbert. "We have been inconsistant, which is a sign of a young team."

Coach Hubbert will have four girls back this season who have been with him all four years at Millry. Sierra Beasley, Courtney Wigham, Amelia Carlisle and Melissa James will all make their return for their fourth season under Hubbert.

Coach Melanie Baxter will join Hubbert on the sidelines this season. She comes from Clarke County High School for her first year at Millry. Millry's 2005 season was

ended at Kinston in the regional tournament. Providence Christian put an end to their championship run.
