Twins enjoy helping others
The two young men spent several days each week volunteering at Jackson Health Care Facility (JHCF), playing games with residents and helping cheer them up. "They have been wonderful," said JHCF Activities Director Betty Johnson of the two Jackson Intermediate School students. "They came faithfully every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and enjoyed playing a variety of games such as horseshoes, beanbag toss, checkers and dominoes with residents." Johnson said she knew the two boys and their parents from church and asked if they would be interested in doing some volunteering at the nursing home. "They've been coming all summer," she added. Both boys said they enjoyed their time spent interacting with the residents at JHCF. "We like helping others," said Damian. "Playing games with them (the residents) is fun," added Tynan. One of the residents, Clarence McVay said he really enjoyed the time he spent playing checkers with the youngsters. "They are very nice young men," he said.
Damian and Tynan are the sons of Carmella and Brent Marberry and the fourth grade students of Emeline Rocker.
