Jackson man charged for having child porn
Samuel Dossie Woodson III, 33, was taken into custody after images were found on computers and discs during a search of his residence, Aug. 10, revealed what appeared to be pornographic images. According to Police Chief Charles Burge, one image found on a computer hard drive clearly depicted a child lying nude on a bed in a suggestive manner. He added that two other questionable images were also found on a disc confiscated during the search. A total of 125 compact discs and floppy discs were collected at the scene along with the two computers. The evidence has been turned over to the U.S. Secret Service for analyzing. "The Secret Service will review the discs and two hard drives and utilize a national team of forensic pediatricians to determine what images are underage children," said Burge. "The forensic pediatricians are experts in analyzing bone structure in order to give approximate ages of the people depicted." Burge stressed that none of the children on any of the discs or hard drives appear to be local. "All of the images appear to be downloaded from the Internet," he said. The search warrant was executed by Deputy Chief Mark Harrell, Sgt. Josh Garrett and Officer Ben Marshall. Burge said investigation of the case is continuing and Woodson could be charged with one count per image of possessing child pornography. He added that other charges may be pending in the case as well.
Woodson was booked into the Clarke County Jail on $7,500 bond.
