CCHS' Babes gearing up for volleyball season
The Bulldogs will be under the direction of first year Head Coach Athena Hubbert. She comes from a three-year assisting job at Millry High School. "I am excited about being here with these girls," said Hubbert. "I am looking forward to getting started here at Clarke County. We have a lot of work to get done before our first game." Clarke County only lost one senior to graduation last season in Jessica Moore. They will have one returning senior in Carrie Gordon and one new senior in Krista Harvell. Returning are 11th graders Schaefer Bradford, Jessica Johnson and Jasmine Morris. Clarke County will look to improve on what was an average season last year under Coach Melanie Baxter, who took an assistant job at Millry. The girls stayed around .500 for the majority of the season. "We are excited about getting to know our new coach," said senior team member Gordon.
"Everything will fall into place by the first game," concluded Hubbert.
