Good Hope Missionary

Baptist Church in Salitpa

The members of the Good

Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Salitpa will be conducting their annual homecoming and revival Aug. 13-18.

The Rev. Donald Reed, pastor of New Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville, will be the 2:30 p.m. speaker on Sunday.

The following speakers will speak at 7 nightly.

On Monday, Aug. 14, Minister Pete Crayton, associate minister of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Jackson, will speak.

Tuesday evening's speaker will be the Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor of Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Jackson.

The Rev. Al Smith, pastor of Kings Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Yarbo, will be the speaker on Wednesday.

Thursday evening speaker will be the Rev. Craig Westry of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in McIntosh.

Elder Zack Bouie of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. will speak on Friday.

The Rev. Derrick Powell, pastor of Good Hope, invites everyone to attend.

James Chapel Baptist

Church in St. Stephens

The James Chapel Baptist Church in St. Stephens is observing their homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 13.

Minister McCarthy will be the 2:30 p.m. speaker.

The revival will begin on Monday, Aug. 14 and continue through Friday, Aug. 18.

The Rev. Corey Pruitt of Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill will be the evangelist.

Pastor Henry L. Gillis Sr. invites everyone to attend.

Bradley to speak at Union

Grove Baptist

Lee Bradley, an international

mission board missionary to Albania, will be speaking at Union Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.

Bradley has been serving in various locations in Albania since October of 1996. He has been responsible for starting churches in those areas.

Refreshments will be served following the service and guests will be able to meet with Bradley.

Everyone, including mission and youth groups, are invited to attend.

Pine Chapel Baptist

Church No. 2

Pine Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 in Jackson is hosting a revival Aug. 14-18 at 7 nightly.

The evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Darrell Brooks, pastor of Wellington Street Baptist Church in Mobile.

The Rev. Frederick Thompson Sr., pastor, invites everyone to attend.

Inspirational Tabernacle

Church

A revival is planned for Aug. 14-19, Monday through Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. at Inspirational Tabernacle Church in Jackson.

Special guests will be Pastor Clayton Davis, Minister Sharon King, Pastor L. Richardson and others.

Everyone is invited to attend, said Evangelist Beverly Jackson, acting pastor.

New Canaan Missionary

Baptist Church The New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Choctaw Bluff will be hosting its church's anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 3 p.m.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Taylor, pastor of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Alma.

The Rev. Van Williams invites everyone to attend.

"Journey to Financial

Freedom"

"Journey to Financial Freedom", a Crown Financial Ministries seminar sponsored by the First Baptist and First United Methodist churches in Jackson, will be conducted at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center on Aug. 25-26.

The seminar has been used to open the door to total financial freedom for thousands of Christian families, according to a spokesman for Crown Financial Ministries.

The Friday night session will begin at 7 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. and Saturday's session, 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Refreshments will be served during the Saturday session.

Antioch Baptist Church

The Antioch Baptist Church will be hosting its homecoming on Sunday, Aug. 13.

Sunday School is at 10 a.m., worship at 11 followed with a noon meal.

Old-time convention singing will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend, said interim pastor, the Rev. Yoga Taylor of Mobile.

Okalona Methodist

Protestant Church

There will be a singing at Okalona Methodist Protestant Church in Fulton on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 7 p.m.

Featured singers will be Teri and Randy Grimes of St. Stephens.

The church is located one mile north of Fulton Junction on Swimming Pool Road.

Pastor Ron Giles and Associate Pastor David Guy invite everyone to attend.

James Chapel

Baptist Church

James Chapel Baptist Church will be celebrating the 27th anniversary of its pastor, the Rev. Osbry Millender, on Sunday, Aug. 27.

Guest speaker for the 11:30 a.m. service will be the Rev. Charlie Woodard, pastor of St. Joseph Baptist Church in Loxley. The Rev. Robert Taylor, pastor of Antioch A.M.E. Church in Alma, will be the 2:30 p.m. speaker.

Everyone is invited to attend the celebration.

Union Chapel

Baptist Church

The Union Chapel Baptist Church in Barlow Bend will be conducting its 10th year anniversary program in honor of the Rev. Tommie L. and Marilyn Moore on Sunday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m.

Special guest will be the Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff.

Everyone is invited to attend the celebration.

St. James A.M.E. Church

The Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church in Choctaw Bluff will be honored at a special anniversary celebration on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Clifford Mitchell, pastor of First Church of God of Mt. Vernon will be the special guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend.

Greater New Hope

A.M.E. Church

The Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church in Millry will be hosting its annual homecoming celebration on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 3 p.m.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor Jr., pastor of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Walker Springs.

Revival services will begin Aug. 21 and continue through Aug. 25 at 7 nightly.

Evangelist will be the Rev. W.J. Carter, pastor of New Vision Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Miss.

The Rev. Ivory James, pastor, invites everyone to attend.

St. Paul A.M.E.

Church of Carlton

St. Paul A.M.E. Church of Carlton will be celebrating the 7th anniversary of Pastor Georgia P. Nash on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

The Rev. Clausell Boykin, pastor of St. James A.M.E. Church of Choctaw Bluff and his congregation will be the special guests.

The celebration will climax on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Seaborn Sr., pastor of Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church of Jackson and his congregation as the special guests.

Everyone is invited to attend, said program chairpersons, Marie Fuller and Lisa Peoples.

New Canaan Missionary

Baptist Church

New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson will be conducting its "Youth Explosion" on Saturday, Aug.12 at 5 p.m.

Guest speaker will be Minister Eldridge Jackson of Carlton A.O.H. Church.

Special guests will be the Land Boys of Millry.

There will be a fireworks display following the service.

Cedar Point

Baptist Church

Cedar Point Baptist Church in Coffeeville will be hosting its annual homecoming and revival beginning on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

The Rev. Craig Purchase of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Joliet, Ill. will bring the message.

Dinner will be served following the service.

The revival will begin on Monday, Aug. 21 and continue through Friday, Aug. 25 at 7 nightly.

The Rev. Jimmy McCarty of Mobile will be the speaker for the week.

Everyone is invited to attend, said the Rev. James Chaney.

Summer camp meeting

A summer camp meeting is still in progress through Friday, Aug. 11 in McIntosh.

Wilbert Reed is the evangelist.

The gospel tent is located on Highway 43 at the south end of McIntosh.

"Everyone is invited to come worship God with us. Bring the lost, the sick and those who need deliverance and watch God bring a miraculous change in their lives," said Reed.
