JHS student wins ASCC giveaway

Logan Murphy was recently presented with a 30GB iPod® from Kiki Scott Moore, director of the Jackson campus of Alabama Southern and TRIO Project specialist. Logan Murphy was recently presented with a 30GB iPod® from Kiki Scott Moore, director of the Jackson campus of Alabama Southern and TRIO Project specialist. Jackson High School student, Logan Murphy, of Jackson, was recently presented with a 30GB iPod® from Alabama Southern Community College. Murphy is the son of Susie and Terry Murphy of Jackson.

Murphy participated in an iPod® promotion sponsored by the college for students who were eligible for scholarships and admission to Alabama Southern Community College.

Murphy has also participated in many activities at Jackson High School, including: National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, United States Achievement Academy, Pine City Ambassadors, served as president of the Student Government Association and the Clarke County Gifted Program.

He also volunteers in the community for Salvation Army,

Jackson Medical Center, United Blood Services, American Cancer Society, Vacation Bible School at Rockville Baptist Church, Aggie Reader Program, Senior Health & Fitness Day and United Way Boost America Campaign.

Murphy has received many academic honors as well as athletic honors, such as most improved player on the Aggie football team and has been a member of the Aggie baseball team for four years.

There will be two more opportunities for students to win a 30GB iPod® on Feb. 1, 2007 and April 1, 2007.
