The Washington County Commission took three actions Monday during its regular meeting.

Commissioners voted to order seven dump trucks from the state bid list, with prices to be determined after contracts are awarded. The county later will sell seven dump trucks.

They also voted to invite bids on a pickup truck for the sheriff's department. Sheriff William Wheat said a state grant has been promised as reimbursement to the county for most of the cost.

The commission approved a motion to make Ann Schwab a full-time radio dispatcher/jailer. She is currently a part-time employee.

Lengthy discussions were held on hurricane debris removal and future actions at a dirt pit located near Jackson which the county leases.
