Carpenter
Pearlie M. Carpenter, a native of Kentucky, died June 8, 2005 at Washington County Infirmary in Chatom at the age of 89.
A resident of Grove Hill, she was a former resident of Chatom.
She is survived by a son, George Carpenter of Wagarville; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was June 11 at Springhill Cemetery in Chatom with Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom directing.
Castle
James W. Castle, 63, a native of Jackson, Tenn. and resident of Wilmer, died June 6, 2005 at his residence. A member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 119, he was a refrigeration technician employed with ERS/CIMCO.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Shoultz Castle of Wilmer; daughter, Pamela D. Castle; two sisters, Ginger Lee Whiteside and Abigail Crawford.
The funeral service was June 11 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Millry.
Pallbearers were Charley Williams, Paul Arnett, Philip Sullivan, Bruce Dryden, Mack Hollingshead and Nathan Deese.
Faircloth
James Oliver Faircloth, died June 2, 2005 at his residence in St. Stephens. He was a retired manager for Fast Time convenience stores in Mobile. A native of Mobile, he was a member of McIntosh United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Mirlean Faircloth and Roy E. Faircloth Sr., both of St. Stephens; brother, Roy E. “Eddie” Faircloth Jr. of Mobile; five sisters, Edith Johnson of Jackson, Brenda King of Mobile, Gloria Faircloth of Grand Bay, Tammy Woodward of Saraland and Jacinda Clanton of Fairhope.
The funeral service was June 4 at McIntosh United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Stock officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directing.
Pallbearers were Bobby Coleman, Luke Payne, Hunter Payne, Tony Tarver, Morris Daugherty, Brad Thornton and George Woodyard.
Honorary pallbearers were Dewayne Clanton, Wayne Coleman, Ryan Faircloth, Kenneth King, Keith King, Gene King, Jason Johnson, Dr. Lashun B. Graves, Kim Allen and the employees of the Dialysis Center of Jackson.

Koen
John Lee Koen, 92, died June 2, 2005 at his residence in Millry. He was a native and resident of the Koenton community in Millry. A member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Millry, he was a retired operator for Ciba-Geigy Corp. in McIntosh.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Koen of Frisco City; three daughters, Janelle Anderson, Linda Sanderson and Sue Singleton, all of Millry; sister, Connie Dixon of Millry; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was June 3 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Millry. Interment was in the church cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directing.
McInnis
Robert Wayne McInnis Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Jackson, died June 11, 2005 in a Birmingham hospital at the age of 64. A graduate of Jackson High School, he attended Livingston University where he played football. He was a member of the National Guard and the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Chinook helicopter pilot. Before retiring with a rank of captain, he received the Broken Wing Award for his service. He and his wife, Jean Parten McInnis previously owned two businesses, Floral Creations and Jackson Marine. He retired from Alabama River Pulp as the assistant pulp mill superintendent.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. McInnis Jr., mother, Rosa Lee Boling McInnis, father, Edgar Huel McInnis and brother, William White McInnis.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jean Parten McInnis of Jackson; daughter, Anne-Ellen McInnis Waller of Mobile; grandson, Charles Lee “Mac” Waller of Mobile; son-in-law, Charles Lee Waller V of Mobile; two sisters, Rosalyn McInnis Patton of Grove Hill, Patsy McInnis McLendon of Miller’s Ferry; two brothers, Hugh McInnis of Escatawpa, Miss. and Harold McInnis of Mobile.
Visitation was held at the family residence in Jackson on June 13. Graveside service was June 14 at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directing.
Moseley
The funeral service for Maggie Ruth Brown Moseley, 87, of Jackson was June 10 at First Assembly of God Church in Jackson with the Rev. E.C. Russell, Rev. David Lee and grandsons, the Rev. David Lee Jr. and the Rev. Lee Moseley, officiating. Interment was in the Gaddys Chapel Cemetery on Walker Springs Road with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Steve Lee, Mark Milele, Scott Milele, Brian Moseley, Dean Moseley, James Moseley and Michael Moseley.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Cibiras, Brian Ivey, Michael McIntyre and Steve Whittington, husbands of her granddaughters and Robert McDivitt, son-in-law.
A native of Clarke County and a resident of Jackson Health Care Facility, Moseley died June 7, 2005 at Jackson Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Turner Moseley.
She is survived by two daughters, Jimmie Ruth Moseley Lee (the Rev. David Lee) of Springfield, Mo. and Linda Moseley (Robert) McDivitt of Lebanon, Tenn.; four sons, Wayne (Margie) Moseley of Ocean City, Md., Lelon (Carol) Moseley, Glenn (Frances) Moseley and Randy (Donna) Moseley, all of Jackson; sister, Bonnie Skinner of Jackson;16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Ware
Daniel Carl Ware Sr., 47, died June 12, 2005 in a Mobile hospital. A native of Chatom and a resident of Millry, he was an attorney and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam. A member of the Millry Baptist Church, he was a Mason in the W.N. Reynolds Lodge in Frankville.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Ware of Millry; sister, Brenda Frost of Millry; two brothers, Larry J. Ware and Thomas Ware, both of Millry.
The funeral service was June 14 in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom. Interment was in the Kimbrough Memorial Cemetery in Millry.
Pallbearers were Danny Everette, Carl Ray Dearmon Sr., Carl Ray Dearmon Jr., Carl Ray Caten, John Blount, Anthony Matlich and Gary Williams.
Honorary pallbearer was Fred Everette.
Milstead
Donald E. Milstead, a native of Jackson, died June 6, 2005 at his home in LaFollette, Tenn. at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by a sister, Reta D. McIntyre and stepfather, James Tollie Dolbare.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Milstead; three children, Donald E. Milstead Jr. of Mansfield, Texas, Martin Lee Trowbridge Jr. of LaFollette and Tammy Trowbridge (Anthony) Holman of Hoschton, Ga.; mother, Emmarene Milstead Dolbare of Jackson; five sisters, Aline D. (Tony) Herrin of Mobile, Glenda Dolbear of Jackson, Ina D. (Tom) Williamson of Theodore Betty D. (Donnie) Johnson of Millry and Mary (John Butts) Dolbear of Acworth, Ga.and four grandchildren.
The funeral service was June 9 at Martin Wilson Chapel in LaFollette. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette.
Sheppard
Donald “Don” R. Sheppard Jr., 68, a resident of Laurel, Miss., died June 8, 2005.
The funeral service was June 12 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Laurel, Miss with the Rev. Marty Fields and Dr. Robert Horel, officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Jones County with Memory Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel directing.
Pallbearers were Wayne Traylor, Phil Beuhler, Victor Jones Jr., Carey Hauenstein, Joe Stringer and Billy Burton.
He was the owner of Dixie Dandy Catfish and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. An active member of the Mississippi National Guard, he was the former owner of Sheppard Oil Company, Sheppard Butane and Hattiesburg Butane. He served as the past president of the Rotary Club in Laurel, the Shady Grove Waterworks board and a board member of Bancrof Bank and Laurel Federal. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Welborn Sheppard of Laurel; four sons, Scott Sheppard and Scott (Tiffany) Sumrall, all of Laurel, Stan (Angie) Sumrall of Gulfport, Miss. and Shannon (Missy) Sumrall of Vancleave, Miss.; mother, Opal Adams Sheppard of Laurel; sister, Sharon (Bill) Loving of Salisbury, Md. and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Don R. Sheppard Sr.
Stabler
Lonnie Walter Stabler Jr., 73, a resident of Midlothian, Va. and a native of Monroe County, died June 7, 2005 at his home. A graduate of Fairhope High School in Fairhope, he attended Auburn University where he received a bachelor of science degree in industrial management. He was employed with Inland Container Corp. in Orlando, Fla. before transferring to the Richmond-Petersburg plant where he retired with 27 years of service. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wilda Robertson Stabler; three children, Lonnie “Lon” W. (Melissa) Stabler III, Kerry “Kenny” D. Stabler, all of Midlothian and Jil Stabler (Harrison) Murfee of Wake Forest, N.C.; two sisters, Madeline S. Fix of Birmingham and Cornelia S. Kennedy of Mobile; brother, Wilson Stabler of Greensboro, N.C. and three grandchildren.
The funeral service was June 10 in the Chesterfield Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home in Chesterfield, Va. with the Rev. James H. Cary Jr., officiating. Interment was in the Crestview Memorial Park in South Hill, Va.
Lee
Gladys Howze Lee, 74, a native of Coffeeville and resident of Grove Hill, died June 8, 2005 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was a retired educator who taught at Coffeeville Elementary School for 25 years.
She is survived by three sisters, Viola Jordan of Montgomery, Annie Bell Law of Denver, Colo. and Mary L. Cox of Atlanta, Ga.
The funeral service was June 11 at Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Burial was in the Thornton Cemetery in Coffeeville with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Stewart
The funeral service for Mattie Scott Stewart, 95, of Salitpa was June 11 in the Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church of Salitpa. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery in Salitpa with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
A member of Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church in Salitpa, she died June 9, 2005 at her residence.
She is survived by a daughter, Geneva Pace of Saraland; stepdaughter, Willie L. Randall of Prichard and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Yelder
Dianne Jones Yelder, 56, a native of Jackson and a resident of Leroy, died June 4, 2005 at Jackson Medical Center.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a husband, Larry Yelder of Leroy; two sons, Patrick Jones and Brandon Yelder, both of Leroy; stepdaughter, Marci Williams of Jackson; brother, Graylin Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four sisters, Joyce Hamilton and Euniece Bettis, both of Jackson, Paulette Manon of Stoughton, Maine and Yvonne Hershenson of Dorchester, Maine and three grandchildren.
The funeral service was June 11 in the chapel of Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson.
