VFW 5355 meetings
The VFW Post 5355 and ladies auxiliary will meet the third Thursday of every month, 6 p.m., at the VFW Club on Club Wiley Road.
Members are urged to attend and new members are welcome.
Sickle Cell support
Sickle Cell education and support group meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
Diabetic Support
The Diabetic Support Group meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the dining room at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.

Senior girls 2005-06
The meeting to sign up to participate in the Washington County Junior Miss Program will be Sunday, Feb. 27. If interested, please call 847-6676 between the hours of 4-6 p.m.
Ebony Fashion Fair
The annual Ebony Fashion Fair, in support of patients stricken with sickle cell anemia, will be held Friday, Feb. 25 at the Mobile Civic Center.
The event will include a silent auction and live music after the program. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $75 for reserved seating, which includes dinner. CCHS meets Feb. 27
The Clarke County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grove Hill Town Hall. Society member Laverne Mott will present a program about Gus Rhodes.
Mr. Rhodes was an African American violinist from Thomasville. He was a popular performer in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The March meeting of the society will be held on the 20th due to Easter falling on the last Sunday of the month. The subject next month will be cemetery preservation.
ATAAA Ombudsman
The Alabama-Tombigbee (Area Agency on Aging) is looking for volunteers in Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Sumter, Washington and Wilcox counties to:
•Visit residents on a regular basis, receive gas allowance for mileage
•Listen to residents’ concerns
•Advocate for the rights of residents
•Bring joy and happiness to someone
