Hicks signs four-year scholarship with University of North Alabama

Kills first deer
     Lane Taylor Kight, 8-1/2, killed his first deer, a 5-point buck, while hunting with his dad in Sweet Water. He shot the deer at 130 steps with a .22 magnum rifle. He is the son of Karen and Roger Kight of Spanish Fort and the grandson of Pat and Frank Kight of Leroy.

     Chase Anderson, 9, killed his first deer, a spike, on Jan. 25, while hunting with his dad. He shot the deer with a 223 rifle. He is the son of Tonya and Greg Anderson.

     Robin Swift, 8, killed his first deer while hunting with his granddad, Dale Overstreet, and friend Rick Beecher in the Jackson Creek area off of Highway 69. He killed the deer with a .22 caliber Hornet rifle. He is the son of Jill Swift of Atmore.

     Cory Beverly, 15, recently killed this 170-pound 11-point buck while hunting with his dad in Coffeeville. He shot the deer with a .308 rifle. He is the son of Abby and Byron Beverly of Jackson.
