Get out and make a difference; vote in Tuesday’s election
Don’t place too little importance in Tuesday’s special election for House Seat 65. Everyone who is registered to vote and lives within the district should make the effort to vote for the candidate the truly feel will do the best job for this area.
Jeff Dolbare left some mighty big shoes to fill. He did a lot of good things while serving as the representative for the people of District 65 and we need someone who is just as dedicated in seeing the entire district progress with the rest of the region.
For Clarke County and Thomasville residents there are also the renewals of local millage taxes to support the schools in those districts. It is important that voters realize that these taxes are not new ones, but have been in place for quite some time. They help provide funding for our children that might not otherwise be there, allowing for supplies and other necessities.
High quality of education is the main ingredient in progressiveness. Without it we as a county and as a region will cease to recruit new businesses and industry to the area. Do the right thing and vote for the renewal of these taxes.
If you don’t vote, you shouldn’t complain about the outcome of an election. So, make a difference and go to the polls, Jan. 25.
