Anthony Jackson announces bid for Jackson council seat

Anthony Jackson recently announced that he will seek the District 1 Place 2 Jackson City Council seat currently held by Eloise Clarke.
A Jackson native, Jackson, 31, holds an associate’s degree from Alabama Southern Community College and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Mobile. He is currently employed by Pizza Hut, where he works in management and at Wal-Mart.
Jackson placed an emphasis on education when announcing his bid for the council seat. "I would like to see a JROTC established at Jackson High School to give kids direction and teach them leadership skills," he said.
Jackson is a former member of the ROTC and is a member of the 690th Chemical Unit of the Alabama National Guard, which is based in Mobile. He is currently waiting to be commissioned as a second lieutenant.
Jackson enjoys athletics and is an Army 10-mile Runner. He and his wife, Tiffany, have three children, Destiny, 9, DaKendren, 7, and Domanek, 2. He serves as a deacon at Greater Mt. Sinai Church.
"If I am elected to the District 1, Place 2 seat, I will work for all the citizens of Jackson, not just those who live in my district," Jackson said. "I will make no specific promises as part of my campaign, just that I will conduct open communications with all the residents of Jackson. I will appreciate your support in the upcoming election."
